Are you trying to slim down? There's a load of information to help you and you may already have a few idea of what you need to do. Sticking to a healthy diet and exercising regularly can be a slow way to lose weight so people often try unsafe ways instead. Most commonly, women are using these dangerous methods as they feel pressured into being thin by society. Our society forces women into being thin so they often choose these dangerous weight loss methods. Being at a healthy weight is great but, if you choose to use an unsafe weight loss method, you can really endanger your health. Here, I'll be sharing with you these methods so that you can try to avoid them.

The most usual drastic diet plan is starvation; not taking in much food at all, resulting in your energy levels dropping. Some people opt to skip breakfast, others skip lunch, and many choose to skip both meals. In your mind, you convince yourself that you're not hungry even though your stomach is grumbling like crazy, screaming I want to be fed!. Your body is clever, though, and it will be able to conform. The less you consume, the more your body worries that it won't have sufficient food so it adjusts your metabolism, slowing it down to the extent that you are barely burning any fat during the day. When you choose to eat normally again, your metabolism will still be pretty slow, so you will store calories more easily, resulting in you putting on all of that fat quicker. While it is true that you can lose weight when you starve yourself, you will lose more weight by following a regimen of sensible diet and exercise. Don't you think it's much healthier to be able to eat and lose weight while remaining healthy?

Starving yourself can usually cause anorexia. What happens is that you develop a fear of food and turning overweight which results in your eating very little and becoming extremely thin. Anorexia can result in a weaker immune system, loss of hair and even dying. Numerous adolescents try starvation diets but, when you become obsessed with starving yourself, it can eventually turn into anorexia which can damage your body and your health.

Next, there is binge eating. Bulimics binge out on food and then vomit it so that their belly doesn't digest the calories. They do not fear food as anorexics do, but they feel ashamed after overindulging on large amounts of food and so they throw it back up. In comparison to anorexia and starvation where it is evident that the individual is losing weight, bulimia is hard to detect because the weight doesn't vacillate widely. Vomiting your food is not good for your body. It can have terrible consequences on your heart, liver and kidneys. You can end up developing stomach ulcers in the end. Your esophagus mught be damaged by the stomach acid and your teeth could lose their enamel. Your pharynx might also get acid burns. Your body can be badly injured by throwing up your food constantly.

The most effective approach is to eat sensible portions of healthy foods. This means smaller portionsand cutting back on rich foods. It is possible to really slim down without trying such risky methods.
